What about you? Do you use techspeak on a daily basis? Do you use it in your writing assignments? Do you think it affects your ability to express your thoughts, feelings and opinion clearly? Think about the language you use. Do you face problems when you talk to people other than your peers? Or when you have to write an essay?
Do you use punctuation properly? What about capital letters?
I would love to hear your thoughts on this matter. Please comment!

Hehe. I’m just grateful that I got into IRC and web chat before this particular breed of shorthand became a thing. As such, I still text-message in complete sentences!

Me, too. However, I am not sure whether it has to do something with my age or the fact that I am a language teacher. Probably both. Thank you for your comment. I am glad you like the post.

I actually never fell into the trap of techspeak. I knew I used it a little when I was 14 (11 years ago…) but I thought it looked so ridiculous, so I stopped. It annoys me when the people my age uses techspeak because it makes them look uneducated. It don’t mind my text messages or whatever being longer because I insist on writing normally and I wish more people felt the same.
